Static home page does not look like the non-static page
-
Is it possible to make a Blog Post page (or any page) look like the Front/Home page? This is the fundamental problem I am having with WP. I need to control which Posts display on my home page. It looks like the only way to do this is to set my home page to Static, and specify a Page to display as my Home page. The problem is that when I do this, my home page now looks very different from the theme I chose. I have found many support docs that explain how to make a static page your home page, but nothing that explains how to make this page look like the non-static home page. I am using Rebalance, and have tried the Live Demo of Hive, Patch, and Tortuga. In non of these cases does the Static home page look like the non-Static home page.

Hello there,
Is it possible to make a Blog Post page (or any page) look like the Front/Home page?
By default, the blog posts archive page displays all your posts chronologically with the latest being at the very top so it isn’t much you can control on the blog post page.
I need to control which Posts display on my home page.
this you can do by making use of the blog posts block. Refer to this guide for all you need to know on using this block: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/blog-posts-block/
I hope this is helpful.

Hi, thanks for the response. I have used a Blog Posts Block, but this does not display the same as the blogs pages (non-static home page, etc). The featured images are smaller, the columns are narrower and the blog block itself displays narrower, like it does not extend to the page’s margins. (On some themes the discrepancy in appearance with the non-static home page is greater than with others, but it’s always there.) I don’t see anywhere where I can edit the Blog Posts Block to control any of these attributes. I feel like either I’m missing something, or this is a basic limitation of WP.
