Static home page problem
-
Hi hope you can help I’ve got myself just a little confused here, I’ve created a new page “WELCOME TO MY WORLD – The Tortoise Table” which appears fine in a tab at the top of my page, I want this new static page to be my new front page, I have set this up in the settings – reading menu and it works just fine, when I go to my WordPress page this is the first page I see, I have also set up a new page called “BLOG” and set this as my post page within the settings – reading menu and sent a test post, this works fine as well.
My problem is that the home page my posts used to go to, which I had in the past also renamed “Blog” still appears as a tab at the top of my page and is pretty much redundant and confusing, I cannot find a way to rid myself of this extra tab, I hope there is a way to do this as not only does it look wrong but it may also confuse visitors.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Firstly, the problem with your current theme is that it has no ‘Home’ tab. The ‘Home’ tab is named ‘Blog’ and that cannot be changed. First you need to switch to a theme that has a ‘Home’ tab.
Secondly, the ‘Welcome’ page needs to be a child page of ‘Blog’ or any other page. That way it will not show in the nav bar at the top, but appear when clicking the ‘Home’ tab only.
