Static homepage and alternate Posts Page
-
I want a static homepage and my posts to only populate on the bargaining updates page but that is not working.
I don’t seem to have the option to set the current landing page as the ‘official’ homepage and despite saying I want the bargaining updates page to be the posts page, they keep showing up on the homepage.
There is a Home option in the page list header but it seems to be coded differently and doesn’t appear on the list of available pages to set as the homepage, despite it already being the homepage.
I would rather not have to scrap the work I have already put into this site and start over. Could you please advise me as to how to get this to work?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is a backdated thread so you may have already resolved your issue.
The theme you use is Independent Publisher 2 which has setup instructions here https://wordpress.com/theme/independent-publisher-2
The URL of your site is the Home page by default.
This is a one or the other situation. You can create a static front page, and then a separate page for all your published posts. You can do that and the first step is to create two pages and then designate them appropriately.
(1) All posts on the front page which is also called the home page and is the URL of the site by default.
(2) Or a static front page http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/ and all posts on a different page. In that case you can create a Page for the Home page https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/#create-a-new-page first, then create one for your Posts/Blog. Lastly, you designate a static front page.
Optional – Create a blog page https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/#optional-create-a-blog-page
Create a custom menu https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#1-create-a-custom-menu
Add your blog page into it https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#2-add-menu-items
