Static .htm Privacy Settings and User/Password Options
-
So I created a New Page and redirected the URL to go to a static .htm file that I uploaded through my ftp client. My question is regarding password protection of this file. If i use WordPress’ password protect feature on the top right side of the control panel, it does not make any changes to my .htm page, i.e. the page is still public. Ideally I would like to be able to set up user names and passwords that can access only specific .htm files, and when the proper login credentials are entered it can redirect to one of n total htm files (low number of users). I would rather settle for password protection on each .htm page, but the user/pw option seems the most readily accessible seeing as WordPress is a blogging tool. And do they have to make up a WordPress account to create a user login? What are my options?

Not sure what you mean here – where is the redirect? Where is the HTML file?
We can’t do much with files hosted elsewhere, but you can see our Privacy Settings for helping with controlling access to your own site.
