Static Page

  I am having a problem with a static page. No matter how hard I try, I can’t seem to edit the first page that comes up on my site. I made what I wanted to be a home page, but it shows up on the left as a link, rather than being the first page viewed. I have scoured the help pages and they have been slightly useful in familiarizing me with the site workings, but I haven’t found anything about this static page, except something about page attributes. I tried changing the attributes to the page I wanted as my home, but it hasn’t worked yet.
