Static page as home page was working before… now?!

Hi – looking for help. I had set a static page as my home page and it was working fine… now when I go to the Customize > Front page, it does not show my page (or any pages) below the “Static front page” button, so I can’t select it. But the page still exists within my site, and my theme supports static pages as home page. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Jeff

All Pages you have created are found here > Dashboard > Pages
By default the front page of your blog displays all published posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. That is for the convenience of your returning visitors, who come to read your latest post, and who are not likely to be happy with being compelled to click through the same static page with the same blah, blah, blah on it every time they visit the blog looking for the latest post.

However, if you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts. To do that create two pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/

After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

Troubleshooting – My Pages aren’t appearing
They must be public pages – not private and not drafts so check the page visibility setting http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-visibility/.
Public – The page will be visible to everyone.
Protected – The page is protected with a password you set. Only people who have the password can view a protected page.
Private – Pages are only visible to blog Editors and Administrators. Private pages are not visible in Reader, feeds, or in any search. A page can be private without being password protected.

If you have created a custom menu then add the Page to it.

Note that you can enable this on your custom menu settings at the bottom of the page:
    Menu Settings
    Auto add pages
__ Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu
