static pages

  I am new to WordPress.com but very excited about signing up. Is it possible to create a few static pages for my blog (i.e. about us- services- products, etc) in addition to the blog itself?

  Yes, when you go to the Write page, just click Write Page instead of the default Write Post. Note that Pages don’t have all the advantages of blog posts, though, particularly when it comes to search engine ranking.

  You’ll also want to pay attention to how your static pages are ordered, if you have lots of them.
  You can have a main (parent) page, and lower level (child) pages that branch off of it.

  If you only have a couple of static pages (about me, etc), then I wouldn’t worry about that.
