Static roll-over headers

  Hello,

  Is there a way to make the roll-over headers (appearing on each feature image of each post) static?

  Hi Caroline,

  I’m not sure what you mean by roll-over headers. If you are referring to the Feature Images that appear in the header area of single posts on the Pictorico theme, then the answer is “Yes” and “No.” I’ll begin with the latter part first.

  No, you can’t set a single featured image that will appear in the header area of each single post. Not unless you set the same featured image on each post, that is, which would make your blog page look rather monotonous.

  Yes, you may have a single header image display on each single post. The way to accomplish this, while still displaying featured images for each post on the blog page, is to uncheck the box labeled “Display on single posts” at Customize > Content Options > Featured Images.

  Yes, you may have a single header image display on each single post.

  After unchecking the box labeled “Display on single posts” at Customize > Content Options > Featured Images, you may display the site header on each single post. If the site header is presently hidden, then either select one from the default images, or add a new image, at Customize > Header Image, then click the Save & Publish button.

  Hi,
  Thanks for your message. I’m not talking about the image but the header text which appears on each feature image when you put the cursor on the image. Is there a way for each header to be fixed on the image? Thanks Caroline

  Thanks for the explanation, Caroline. That’s a good question. The rolling out of the date and title is a special feature of Pictorico. I don’t see any way of modifying that behavior at Customize on this theme, so I suspect that, if possible, such a modification would require CSS customization. You may add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic if you’d like a more definitive response to the question.

  You could indeed make the post title and date display on the blog grid in Pictorico – without needing to roll over each square – with Custom CSS, which is available with the Premium or Business plans. If you opt to upgrade your site and need help with the code, just let us know!
