static text beneath banner
-
I would like to have static text appear between the banner and the posts. Static in the sense that the text is not pushed down the way posts are pushed down to accommodate a new post. Is there a theme that supports such a feature? If not, is there a way to do this?
Thanks, Bruce

I don’t know what you mean by static text. Do you mean a tagline? If so then some themes do display taglines and some don’t.

The static text would be in addition to a tag line; could consist of 10 to 12 lines of text; and it could be edited in much the same way a post is edited.

@uufsnotes You could create a post and select the option to “Stick this post to the front page” This will keep the post at the top of your page, right below the header.

Also, the Vigilance theme has the option of including permanent or semi-permanent text at the top of the post by using the “alert box” option under appearance > Vigilance options .
-
Another option is to use the iNove theme which allows you to put additional text into the header area (appearance > inove theme options: banner) or at the top of the posts similar to the Vigilance alert box (appearance > inove theme options: notice).
