Static, visible front page – Private Blog

    Hi

I wonder if there is a way of having the blog private (so that it requires a password) but having the static front page still visible?

    Thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,
One idea is to set a password for every post you want to keep private but leaving the front page without password.
(If you already have lots of posts, the above solution can be really tedious. You also might want to change the password regularly…)

It’s easier to bulk edit and set all the posts to Private, not Password-protected. I did that with a blog: http://lolebrity.wordpress.com and it’s much simpler. Go to Edit Posts and you can tick off “Set to Private” for all the posts on that page. So it means you can edit 20 at a time.

If you don’t want to share you password protected posts, the method @raincoaster said is the right way to do it.

Go to Edit Posts and you can tick off “Set to Private” for all the posts on that page. So it means you can edit 20 at a time.

Actually you can simultaneously edit as many posts as you like, just set the number of posts you want to bulk edit in the screen options tab ;)

If you don’t mind me interjecting although we can enter any number in the screen ootions tab thesacredpath’s experience is that when he entered more that more than 75 posts it tended to “choke”.
