Statistics

    Hi there

I just want to know about stats.

When I am NOT logged in and visit my homepage or a piece I know it is recorded as a visit in my stats.

I am just wanting to confirm my stats for today but am confused and just need clarification.

If I am not logged in am I also t corded statistically as a visitor? Because when I scroll further down there is stats showing for when I visited the site as ‘author’ even though I wasn’t logged in.

So basically I am wanting to know whether that site visit as me, logged in or not, is BOTH the visitor and author or whether someone else has also visited aside from me hence stats for visitor and stats for author.

    I hope I’m making sense!!!

    Thanks a lot

    Jordy

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

the reason the stats showed you as not an extra visitor is because it recognizes I.P. addresses. So if you visit, even logged out of your WordPress account, it won’t count as a view but if you, for example, looked at your blog from your local computer library and you were not logged in then that view would count. so you can go to your page 1000 times from your computer but it will only count your I.P. that one time…it is a way to prevent fraudulent stats.

also when you are “logged out” it will have no affect on your site collecting stats

    cheers

    Hang on I’m confused again.
So if my IP address is counted once for example regardless of how many times logged in or not I visit am I a “visitor” in the stats page or am I “author” because both say 1.
So is that two seperate people (me and a visitor) or two ways to say I visited (author and me being visitor).

    Please help

    Thanks
