Statistics not showing correct numbers
-
I’ve been using the Jetpack plugin for my stats, but when I saw the overview of the stats on wp.com’s “my blogs” section, I noticed that there’s a lot missing.
It listed only 69 posts (of 206), 30 comments (of 75) and 12 pages (of 12 the only correct stat). It also lists “your 14 posts”, but I’m the author of 205 of them. What happened here and how can the stats be “reset” to show the correct ones?

You actually have two Jetpack blogs attached to you WordPress.com account.
When viewing the stats here, make sure that you have the correct blog selected via the drop-down menu in the top-right.
-
I know, it shows the correct stats from trifon.nl, but goes wrong with tieptoep.nl.
Might it be possible that it isn’t taking every post into account because I started tieptoep.nl years before I started using the stats plugin? The trifon.nl one has only been around for a year, and those stats seem to be all right. -
-
Yes they are. Both actual blogs show correct stats, but when viewed on the wp.com “my blogs” section (http://wordpress.com/#!/my-blogs/) I miss the aforementioned posts and comments on tieptoep.nl.
-
Would you be able to take a screenshot of the stats in your Dashboard and upload it somewhere I can see it?
That way, I’ll have something to give me a rough comparison.

The last two are perfect, though I noticed that you’re access the stats on WordPress.com via the old Global Dashboard.
Do you see any improvement in the numbers at http://wordpress.com/my-stats/ ?

Oh, that’s what you’re referring to! Sorry, my brain is being slow this fine 2 AM morning. :) More coffee is required.
This is very interesting. Did you every change your blog’s URL after activating Jetpack?
-
Not a problem at all! :) As I was looking at your site and location, I was already wondering why you were awake at this time. (It’s just past noon here now.)
The blog was originally located at blog.tieptoep.nl, but later relocated to tieptoep.nl. But I didn’t use the wp stats plugin from the beginning of the site, so I do not recall if I had it before the move.
Although the first instance in which I noticed that the statistics were incorrect was when I received an overview from Jetpack (http://jetpack.me/annual-report/14681564/2011/) which incorrectly listed the number of posts on my blog for that year and the total number of posts. -
As I read through your last post again; I have never moved the blog after installing and activating Jetpack.
I never noticed anything about the stats in the Global Dashboard before I got the annual report from Jetpack though.
-
Ok, this is definitely odd, so I’m going to see what we can do.
I’ll let you know as soon as I hear back!

At this time, Jetpack only syncs the total number of posts created after its initial activation. The only time an old post is added to the total is if something is done to the post, like it’s edited or a comment is added.
It’s a bit of a know bug, but I don’t know when it will be fixed.
-
It would be nice if there will be some way to synchronise or reset the number of posts and comments then…
Ow well… At least I know where the problem lies. Thanks for helping! :) -
