statistics on embedded videos
-
Hi,
I noticed that I can’t get statistics on the number of persons who clicked on a video which I embedded in the post. I can only see how many people clicked on a link which I inserted to the text.
For example, in the following post, I can not see in the statistics how many persons clicked on the video of Florence + The Machine – Spectrum, I can only see how many persons clicked on the words “dysmetrie”, “Wannabe”, “4” and “Something’s got a hold on me”.

Is there a way to get statistics on the embedded video as well?
Thanks a lot,

Hi,
I never got any answer on this subject, although it was published a long time ago. Could someone please answer me?
Thanks,

Someone will answer you when someone knows the answer. My best guess would be that statistics for the video are found on YouTube.

Hi raincoaster,
By statistics I meant how many of the readers on my blog have clicked on the video I embedded.
Thanks,

I have some videos on YouTube – seems to me that there are some stats there on the embed views and even where the video is embedded – but I don’t know if those stats are available to people that are not the video owner
-
@TT – yes I think there have been some requests for embed views
The stats I referenced above are on YouTube – I just looked a bit at my stats and the embed stats are just for the top level domain and not a specific page

Yes, stats on YT are publicly available, but it doesn’t show WHERE the clicks come from, just shows the number of plays per day etc. They used to display links too, which was useful, but they don’t anymore.

Hi,
Thank you for your answer, but I am not sure that we are talkking about the same thing:
I am interested to know how many times people clicked on a video which I embedded in my post. I am only interested by the readers of the post not everybody in general. In the section “clicks” in the statistics, I can see how many times people clicked on links which I embedded to the text, but not on the video which I put at the end of the post.
For example, in the following post, I can not see in the statistics how many persons clicked on the video of Florence + The Machine – Spectrum, I can only see how many persons clicked on the words “dysmetrie”, “Wannabe”, “4” and “Something’s got a hold on me”. -
And as I explained, that information is not available. YT collects only the info about all the plays of the video, regardless of where they come from. Since a YouTube is not a part of WP.com, WP.com doesn’t collect any stats on it.
