Why is the number of views shown in stats fluctuating downward? Yesterday’s view number was posted higher last night than it is this morning.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble!
While there are several factors that can affect your stats, it does sound odd that the number of stats you had yesterday is a lower number today. I’ve tagged this post so that a Happiness Engineer can take a closer look for you.
In the meantime, I’d like to ask you some questions to see if I can narrow down what might going on here.
Can you confirm that you are looking at the same account and site as yesterday? Are you looking at the visitors, or the views? Can you recall how much your stats went down for yesterday from what you saw today? Have you change your time zone recently?

Thanks. Yes, same account, and definitely comparing apples with apples, so to speak. Views went down by 30 percent (the first day I promoted my new blog). No time zone change. Visitors dropped too. (Apologies for duplicate thread. WordPress kept notifying of prob with submission and directed a resubmit.)

What exactly do you mean? Are you saying that at one point on 1 August the views for 1 August showed a specific number, but now it’s showing a lower number? What is the number it showed before?
Your site stats are showing me 70 views from 23 visitors on 1 August, and 82 views from 55 visitors for 2 August. Stats appear to be getting logged correctly. There’s no way a view stat can be removed once it is logged.
