Stats

When clicking on View All in Stats no figures, maps, etc show up. I saw on the forum that someone suggested clicking on weeks then back to days but only headings show on Days, Weeks and Months. There are no results at all. Do hope you can help me.
Thank you

Hello there,
Sounds like you could have a browser related issue.1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/safari-ipad-clear-cache.htm
(b) Make sure that you have both third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654
(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.
(d) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
4. Try using another browser.
5. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/
(c) And what any error reports you receive state. -
Hi Timethief thanks for the information. I am using Firefox 19 and occasionally IE 8. I can’t update IE at all as I’m using Vista basic and it won’t update.
This problem with the stats page – which is happening on both IE and Firefox – is very recent. I have been loathe to update Firefox as a previous update has caused other web related problems such as not being able to upload photos to certain sites.
I have cleared the cache and cookies from IE and for some reason can’t do so from Firefox! Something weird going on somewhere.I have received no error reports from either browser when accessing the View All page on Stats. All I see is a page with the headings and nothing else.

I am using Firefox 19 and occasionally IE 8.
Upgrade to Firefox 23 here http://browsehappy.com please.
-
Okay I have now upgraded and cleared cache and cookies from both browsers and still the same. Can you suggest anything else?
-
Sorry but I don’t have any additional suggestions so I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Many thanks for your time and effort. I have managed to download Google Chrome – hadn’t been able to before – and just opened that browser to check if the stats page displays properly and it does!
So, I wonder, why not on IE and Firefox which it used to. Most odd. I suppose in the great scheme of things it isn’t wildly important but useful to use.
Thank you again -
It’s good to know you are up and running on Chrome. :) That said, I’m leaving the tagging up for Staff so they are aware that when you upgraded to Firefox 23 you were not successful.

Hi Lynn,
When you refer to the “View All” page are you looking at your stats page at the following link? http://wordpress.com/my-stats/
Or are you looking at a different page? I just want to make sure we’re checking in the right place for you. :)

Hi Lynn, thanks for confirming! I tested that page in IE8 and Firefox and didn’t have trouble viewing it, so this is probably being caused by the browser settings on your computer.
Can you check to make sure that Javascript is enabled in those browsers? If you aren’t sure, you can check here: http://supportdetails.com/

Hi Rachel
Yes have checked via the link you provided and Javascript is enabled. I have checked that the antivirus programme and firewall aren’t causing any problems either and those are fine. I have been scratching my head trying to recall when I was last able to view the stats page via Firefox and IE to see if I have downloaded something that might cause a conflict but just can’t remember. The only programmes that have been recently updated are Adobe, Amazon MP3 installer.
However just checked the plugins on Firefox and it says that Java is unstable for Firefox and may be disabled! Yet the link you provided shows it as being enabled????????????????? -
Hi Lynn,
Thanks for the update! I’m sorry to hear you’re still having problems with IE 8 and Firefox. Let’s see if we can get you going again on those browsers :)
Confusing as it is, JavaScript and Java are actually two totally different things :-/ Java is not required for the stats page to work JavaScript is.
I know timethief has already suggested this but the fact that it working on Chrome makes me want to revisit browser extensions. In Firefox/IE do you have any “Browser extensions” or “toolbars”? The problem may be with an ad block or security extension that is blocking certain elements on the page.
In Firefox for safety and security (as well as stability) I would suggest you visit this page http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ (which is where I think you saw that Java was outdated) and update any outdated plugins. then try the page again.
I hope this helps and let us know how it goes. :)

Hi bdukes
In Firefox and IE8, after following your directions, it all comes up that Javascript is working okay. However the stats page still doesn’t load. I much appreciate your help and shall continue to use Google Chrome for the time being, meanwhile I am going to back up all my files, etc to an external hard drive and do a full reformat as there is something in conflict somewhere. Let us keep our fingers crossed that this will work!
Kind regards
Lynn -
