stats and analytics
-
I have very low daily traffic. I used to be accustomed to Google Analytics before I started my WordPress.com blog. I found the stats inadequate for my information appetite. I installed StatCounter. There are such discrepancies between the WP equipped Stat feature and StatCounter, especially in the last few days, that I’m wondering why WP doesn’t provide or support a better tool since the tools, esp. Google Analytics, are out there? I need perhaps some one-on-one to help me assess whether I’ve improperly installed StatCounter or not exploiting the WP stats feature.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
It’s worth noting that all methods for tracking statistics handle the process differently. For example, our stats do not include the visits from logged in users by default. That might explain the difference between StatCounter and our stats.
Since both resources use different tracking methods they will most likely never be a 100% match. Instead of focusing on specific numbers, I would recommend that you use both tracking methods to develop a rough idea of your visitors’ behavior.

Yea, sounds reasonable. Especially since we’re talking about such small numbers. I’m perhaps a little obsessed about secondary issues when I probably should be cranking out more sketches and learning what it means to market them to the extent that I’m aiming to sell some of the drawings (when I’m not just blabbing on and on, I mean blogging). At any rate, thanks for the quick reply.
