Stats and Carousel
-
Is there any difference in how the stats are counted for images viewed on a carousel or by going directly to their attachment page. All of my posts utilize galleries, so this is important to me.
What I have noticed is the total number of views shown as originating as referrals from the reader seems very low compared to the views the post and the images in the gallery are getting in the stats. Perhaps a lot of my viewers are getting there some other way, but I have no way to know that. Likes exceed views to the post by about 50%. That is normal because not everyone clicks through to the post after giving a like.
So what it seems like is someone clicks through from the reader, that counts as a single page view and any views of the carousel don’t count. Note that most of the time I use image format to prevent the entire gallery from showing in the reader.
I have read the standard response about stats not being real time, and it does not address this.
