Stats and notification icons

  The bar stats icon that normally resides on the left side of blog header has been removed. As well, the notification icon that provides the star for likes, the bubble for comments and the plus sign for follows has been replaced with the generic bell icon. Are these permanent changes? If so, in my opinion it degrades the usefulness of the notification icons and completely removes the ability to see your stats on the fly in real time.

  WordPress.com constantly change things, you basically either have to get used to it or self-host. As for the current changes to stats, there is an official thread here to which you might like to add your thoughts. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/stats-feedback?replies=127

  Thanks for the feedback. I anticipated that response as I’ve experienced this sort of thing many times before in WP, so no surprise they continue to eliminate some of their best features…
