Stats don’t add up.

I don’t get it. My main stats page says I got 50 Pageviews yesterday, but “Top Posts & Pages” says:

These posts on your blog got the most traffic.
    Yesterday
    Title Views
What’s this all about? (sticky post) 5
    Declaration shreds proposed settlement, 3
    About 2
    Seeking: Heroic Whistleblower 1

That adds up to just 11. Stats for other days are similar.

“Referrers” seems much more complete; it covers 22 of the 50 page views, even though it only covers the first pageview of a visitor.

I suspect the answer is that “Top Posts & Pages” doesn’t tally/display page views of a blog’s main page (in my case, http://caringaboutsecurity.wordpress.com/ – I suspect most of the hits were to that page). Can someone confirm this, or otherwise explain the discrepancy?

Can anyone confirm the same behavior on their blog?

You’re right; it counts views of your main page but doesn’t list it in the “Top Posts & Pages”. Also, if the search engines link to your archives or category/tag pages, those will be be counted as views and shown in the search engine terms but won’t be listed individually as pages.
