Stats dropping significantly when switching to my own domain
-
Hi there,
I recently switched my blog from wordpress.com to wordpress.org as I bought my own theme, which WordPress.com wouldn’t allow me to install. The process of moving it over was quite confusing and I’m just wondering if I’ve done something wrong.
Before I moved it over, all my posts seemed to get between 10-30 likes. Since the move, they hardly get any and my stats in general have dropped heaps. Are my posts no longer showing in the WordPress reader to those who haven’t already followed my blog? I follow my own blog just to see what my posts look like in the reader, and I can see them fine, but am wondering if it’s not showing properly for others.
Any advice would be much appreciated!

changing the address will cause a drop in traffic while search engines get used to the new address – your site can still be seen in the reader if someone subscribes to it – your site will no longer show up with a tag search
your search traffic should come back after a bit when search engines get used to the new name
