Stats glitch?
-
I received several emails yesterday for likes and new followers, but views for yesterday do not show up on the stats pages. Where are these views?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please post into the main thread on this issue https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/no-likes-appearing?replies=90

This isn’t about “likes” but about VIEWS in general, which are not appearing on my stats for yesterday. I know my blog was viewed by at least 5 different people. I can understand that stats are not necessarily real time, but I would expect yesterday’s stats to appear today. The number of followers is reflecting a change to include the new followers from yesterday, which also appears on the stats page.
I would like a WordPress staff member to respond, as this is clearly a technical issue. -
Do these “viewers” have WordPress.com/Gravatar accounts?
Were they logged into WordPress.com when “viewing” your blog posts?
Eaxctly where did they “view” the posts?Note that likes, follows, shares and reblogs are not page views. In fact, likes, shares and reblogs are completely misleading when you are talking about page view stats.
Those with WordPress.com/Gravatar accounts who follow your blog in the Reader or by email don’t have to click into the blog unless they wish to.
Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com/Gravatar blog account who is logged into WordPress.com can read, “like”, “share” and “reblog” your posts in several locations such as the Reader, without ever clicking into your blog and creating a single page view stat.
Visitors using a mobile can read the full post without creating a page view stat. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscom-reader-show-full-text?replies=31#post-1373606

I’m sorry, but who are you? Are you staff, because you
don’t show up Staff. It would seem there I an overall issue that allows some views not to be counted. I understand reading a blog on the newsfeed would not show up as a view until clicked, but a new visitor to the blog should be counted because it would not come from their newsfeed. All of the notifications I received yesterday were from non-Followers. -
Did you not read this above?

Yes, I did. It did not answer my question. I appreciate your attempt to help, but my concern isn’t sufficiently resolved with that explanation. I’ll wait for a Staff response.

Hi there,
When WordPress.com users view your blog from the Reader, they can follow your blog and like your posts directly from the Reader. If those actions are done from the Reader, they won’t be counted in your blog stats because they did not visit your blog directly. We have more about how those stats work here: Stats
Please let me know if you have any other questions about that. :)

Hi amplifytheecho, I’m not sure I understand your question. If someone views your blog, those views will be recorded in that blog’s stats. Is there a specific blog where you think there’s an error in the stats? I’d be happy to take a look.

if you look at the statistics from my blog: http://valeriudgbarbu.wordpress.com/
and you will be convinced…
as never before of June last year, all of these problems did not exist?
how come does not help us no one to understand that we must do to avoid the whining?
why the true staff does not tell us where we go wrong in the clear, or where wordpress has big trouble, because so much pride and infatuation?
I feel every day more dissatisfied by wordpress, I think I have to decided seriously of of leaving, it becomes a frustration now… before it was the most attractive, the best, today is going to … who knows where …
more than six months of problems, today one, another tomorrow, and wordpress believe that these are ways of working …
There are between you, the staff, even good people … I hope to meet him … many thanks -
Hi vdg2,
The issue you’re describing is different from the issue raised in the original post in this thread. I’ll be closing this thread, since it has gotten off track from that user’s issue. If you or the other posters in this thread have other questions about your stats, please start a new forum thread with your questions so we can keep the issues separate. Thanks!
