Stats incorrect

  Hi
  My stats seem to be incorrect for “thoughts from a vacuum cleaner”. It is Friday 7th Feb, and the time is 23:12 GMT but I have stats showing up for Feb 8th. Also, I had email alerts for 3rd Feb with likes and yet no hits show up in my stats for that day?

  Hello there,
  The default timezone is UTC time. You can reset your timezone here > Settings > General Select the closest city to you in the same timezone in the drop-down menu you see there and then click “save changes”.

  Where is the URL for this “thoughts from a vacuum cleaner” blog please? Is it this one that I had to search Google to find? http://finkingfoughts.wordpress.com/

  Our stats are not real time stats. For details see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/ and note the views and viewers take hours to update. Also note that those who follow your blog in the Reader or by email don’t have to click into the blog unless they wish to.

  Likes and shares and reblogs and follows are not page views. In fact, likes, shares and reblogs are completely misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can “follow” your blog, “like”, “share” and “reblog” your posts in several locations such as the Reader, without ever clicking into your blog and creating a single page view stat.

  Visitors using a mobile can read the full post without creating a page view stat. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscom-reader-show-full-text?replies=31#post-1373606

  You can control the length of the entry sent out on your RSS feed here > Settings > Reading. Choose the “summary” setting for your RSS feed rather than to “full text”. That will compel followers who are not using mobiles to click into the blog to read the full post which will create a page view stat.

  Hi timethief
  Thanks for the reply, but if you look at the time of my post and the time of your reply, you will see that they are the same and that it is still 7th Feb therefore the stats I am getting for 8th Feb are false (it is not the 8th yet).

  Sorry for the delay. We’ve had several issues with site stats which have been solved now. Let me know if you still encounter issues.
