That’s because you probably have had no visits to your blog, because your blog is so new, and has only two posts. Blog more, and give it time.

Thanks. But,no, I had two likes the first day I posted and a total of four in the days that followed–and no info till now. I see I have stats starting for today, though–guess my query kick-started them ;).

Likes do not count in the stats if people ‘like’ from the Reader, and the same goes for ‘Follow’. People have to go onto your actual blog for it to register a hit. I went onto your blog twice, does it show?

Okay, I understand. Thanks :). Yes–you were my only two visits :). But that’s okay, just want a covert place to keep some poems. Appreciate the feedback.

Likes and shares are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can “like” and “share” your posts in several locations such as the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat.

I choose to reduce my RSS Feed to “summary” here > Settings > Reading
For each article in a feed, show
    Full text
    Summary
Doing that compels followers to click in and read the full post on my blogs.

Thanks. That makes sense. I notice I already have followers–but I guess they don’t actually have to frequent the blog either for the posts to be sent by email. Would like to have followers, really, from those who love poetry and prose–not for boosting stats. A true treasure would be if even just one person really felt there was something worth returning to time and again, I would count that as priceless.
