Stats information problem, could it be a hacker?
-
The stats system is either having issues or there is a person hacking the system. My stats bar says that I only have one visitor today but 28 views. That in and of itself isn’t exactly a problem but many of those views were said to come from different countries all over South America and the United States. How can one visitor be in all those countries at once? So I don’t know if it’s simply a glitch in the system or if there is a hacker routing his/her information across different networks somehow. I don’t actually know how that works though so please forgive me if my hypothesis isn’t exactly accurate.

Hi jsamueledwards,
Don’t worry, there isn’t anyone hacking the system. When you look at your stats, you may notice that your visitor count lags behind your views count. This is due to the way we crunch the numbers. Typically a view is reported within five minutes, while it can take up to two hours to report new visitors. That’s why you see the “Views by Country” stat showing multiple countries before the number of visitors catches up.
If you take a look at your stats now, you will see 10 different visitors yesterday instead of just one. You can also read more about how your stats work here: Stats
If you have any questions about this, please let me know!
