Stats keep changing

  My blog is only a week old so I’m not sure whether this is how the stats are supposed to work – or whether there is an issue.

  If I go to Statistics and use a custom range, starting from the 12^th March, I can see 196 views and 128 visitors. If I change that view to “year to date” the numbers change to 196 / 111. Using “month to date” we’re back to 196 / 128.

  If I then click on Insights – 196 / 111 again.

  As Insights say “year in review” it looks like anytime a report tries to look at either the whole of 2025, or the past 12 months, the numbers drop.

  Is this normal?

  Stats simply aren’t reliable after only one week! The reliability of statistics is directly proportional to the time period … only 1 week is much to short …

  Soooo, I’m new here and don’t want to upset anyone – but that makes zero sense to me (I’ve worked in IT for decades and tested all kinds of systems and done statistical analysis). I’m afraid there is no logic in saying that changing the timeframe, for the stats, will bring different results back.
