[Stats] No view counts/visitors while receiving a like. Why is it possible?
-
Hi,
Yesterday someone liked one of my blog posts, but there’s no count of views and visitors in the stats. Both are zero.
I wonder how that someone read my blog and liked it. She seems a proper WordPress blogger, not a spam.
Is there something I’m missing to consider?
I would appreciate any tip to solve this wonder.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. It’s actually quite simple: People can like your posts from within the Reader without ever visiting your blog, and if your reading settings are set to display the full post in feeds and email notifications, they can even read it without visiting your blog and generating a view stat.
On the other hand, our stats are not real-time and there can be some delay between someone viewing your site and the view being registered in your stats.

Thanks for your reply, Kokkieh. I simply didn’t know that the view in the Reader doesn’t generate a view stat.
Understood now. Thank you!

That’s why many of us prefer to only show a summary view in the Reader, so readers are forced to click through to the blog itself. Neither approach is right or wrong, so you decide what works best for you.
If you want to change this, set your feed setting to summary under Settings ->Reading in the dashboard.
