Stats not showing all viewers
-
On Twitter I had a reminder to read the blog. Link was shortened URL with bit.ly. I have tested it, it works fine. 17 clicks … but only 5 additional showed up in the viewer count for the blog today. I have tracked some of my own direct access views (not logged in) and the numbers haven’t changed.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m not sure but maybe saved cookies / IP prevents multiple views. Sometimes stats can take a while to refresh so ….. patience

Part of the problem is that bit.ly counts bots and spiders whereas wordpress does not.
Also, wordpress might or might not count your visits when you are logged out of wordpress. My suggestion is if you are going to test things that you log out of wordpress, clear your browser cookies, restart your browser and then try the test. Also, as rohangupta1 says, it can take a few minutes or perhaps in some instances 15 for stats to update depending on server loads.

Bitly will count ALL your clicks through it, whereas if you’re logged in, WP.com won’t count them.

bit.ly statistics are not an accurate count of people.
WordPress.com statistics are much more accurate.
