Stats Not Updating Correctly – Specifically Visitors

  Stats not updating correctly – Specifically visitors

  My stats dropped off significantly the other day (for me), however I assumed this was a matter of the amount of time it takes to update the stats for the site. Today however I have noticed my page views increasing rapidly but with no additional visitors. Also I have spoken to several people who read my blog and confirmed they did so this morning, the total number is equal to everyone that has read it and they are all in the US, despite 15 views coming from the UK. Clearly there is an issue somewhere in the stats updating and visitor tracking.

  Hi there,

  It’s normal for your visitor count to lag behind the views stats for your blog, because of how we crunch the numbers for your visitor stats. We have more details about that here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#views-and-visitors

  Could you keep an eye on your stats for today and see if they are all caught up by tomorrow? If it looks like there’s still an issue at that point, we’ll have a better idea of what’s going on and can investigate this further. :)
