Stats not working
-
I have had many followers and likes, over ten I believe now, so the views should be considerably more, but my stat counter only says 2.
Is there something wrong with the stat counter? I don’t know how to fix it or check to see if its working right.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

People can “like” a Post without visiting your site, I think from the email sent to subscribers and also from the Reader here

So a like or a follow does not register in stats? it seems you would have to click th post to do those things. It just seems th stats are not working, with th amount of traffic I am seeing. Or I just dont undrstand their stat counter.

I agree. I think my facebook and twitter followers are not hitting at all. I have more followers on my blog than I have overall site views. that isn’t possible as far as I’m concerned.

As auxclass pointed out likes and shares are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. It’s only when a visitor actually clicks into the site that a page view stat is created. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com or Gravatar account who is logged into WordPress.com can “like” and “share” your posts in several locations such as in email and the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat.
You can control the length of the entry sent out on your RSS feed here > Settings > Reading. Choose the “summary” setting for your RSS feed rather than to “full text”. That will compel followers to click into the blog to read the full post which will create a page view stat.
Note that doing that to the RSS Feed does not affect the length of the post displayed on the front page or main page for posts on the blog. To create excerpts there we can split content by inserting “the more tag” http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
Also note that you can disable “Sharing” on the same page:
Settings > Reading
Add to each article in your feed:
Categories
Tags
Comment count
SharingChanges may not appear until you create a new post or your news reader refreshes.
