stats not working
-
Hi. My stats are not registering all of my views. My posts are summarized in reader and people are telling me that they have read entire posts, which they can only do by visiting my blog. This happened a couple of weeks ago but I thought it had resolved itself by the end of the day. Also, apparently staff visited my blog re: a reblog button issue yesterday and that view didn’t register either. Thank you. I’m sorry to complain.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Logged in visitors using a mobile can read the full post without creating a page view stat. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscom-reader-show-full-text?replies=31#post-1373606
Our stats are not real time stats. For details see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/ and note the views and viewers take hours to update. Provided you are logged in when visiting, your own views are not recorded on any public blog you registered.
Our stats are page view stats. Please do not assume that everyone who clicks a follow, like, share, reblog or comment link actually reads the post on your blog because odds are they may not. Also note that those who follow your blog in the Reader or by email don’t have to click into the blog unless they wish to. Subscribers control how frequently they receive your posts (instantly, daily, weekly). And, they can even comment without clicking into the blog either.
Follow, like, share, reblog or comment clicks are not page views. In fact, follows, likes, shares, comments and reblogs are completely misleading when you are talking about page view stats.
Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com/Gravatar account who is logged into WordPress.com can “follow” your blog, “like”, “share” and “reblog” your posts and “comment” in several locations such as the Reader, without ever clicking into your blog and creating a single page view stat.

As I posted, people told me that they read my posts and my posts are summarized in the reader, so one cannot read my entire post in the reader. Everything else you posted – thanks, I understand all of that.
To a WP support person: Do you guys have any plans for work arounds re: any of the issues posted above? Our stats, as they are, do not give an accurate picture or account of our readers.
I added a site meter to my widgets and it seems to be working better than the WP stat option.
Thanks.

I’m happy to answer any questions you have about our stats collection, but I’m not really sure what the issue is. Our stats aren’t in real time, generally they’re up to date without about 24 hours, but sometimes it takes a little longer.
Let me know any specific questions you have or issue you’re having with your stats.

It doesn’t seem to me that the “stats collection” is up to date with new technology (mobile devices) or clicks from the WP feature, the reader, and so my question is are you guys going to update the “stats collection” to reflect current technology and your own reader? Since I added site meter, I can see every visitor who visits my blog, while the WP “stat collection” registers little to nothing. I appreciate you guys hosting free blogs. It would be nice if the stat feature wasn’t so limited. That’s all.

We are. We update our software every single day.
Since I added site meter, I can see every visitor who visits my blog, while the WP “stat collection” registers little to nothing.
I understand that this can be frustrating, but a basic counter is going to track something different than we will.
For example, we don’t count visits from you in your stats, where a basic counter will. We also separate out ‘views’ from ‘visitors’ so one visitor may view every single page on your site, resulting in many views, but still only one visitor.
I hope that clarifies things for you, but let me know if there’s something specific you’re missing from your stats.
