stats not working due to privacy settings?
-
I have 2 WP hosted blogs. On the one the stats work, on the other they don’t (show no traffic at all)
The first is open to the public, the latter is for subscribers only. Does that make the difference?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Perhaps you haven’t had any readers yet? It won’t show your own views if you’re signed in.

We cannot offer assistance without a link to your blog, starting with http. We really wouldn’t have any way to know without that.
-
thanks again for your assistance…blog is not public unfortunately..if you still want to help pls mail to (email visible only to moderators and staff) and i will put login details in a reply

Afraid we cannot help with a blog that isn’t public. Have you reviewed the thread at the top of the forums on the difference between wp.com and wp.org?
-
And it is a bad idea to put your email address in an open public forum. Spammers scan forums all the time looking for email address so they can get you to buy discount pharmaceuticals and such.

@wimaalbers, here’s how it works. If you add users to the Privacy Settings page and those users login to WordPress.com and then visit your blog, their visits will be counted in stats. If you add users to the Users page in the blog (instead of the Privacy Settings page), then that is different. Users’ visits are not counted in stats.

designsimply; Thanks, this is the help I was looking for
the sacredpath; Thanks also, I know, but did not see another way -
Uhm … don’t know if it’s the right place to put my question in any case the 15 of this month I’ve reinstalled my selft hosted blog from ground zero, put the usual plugins and some new and since then WP-stats says me zero, one or two visits a day … GAnalytics counts over 200 single hits a day so …
What’s going on ?
The “incriminated” blog is http://www.koolinus.net/blog while I have different blogs with the same API key working as usual {and yes, when putting again my API-key I told the system to replace the previous one }
TIA!

If you’re self-hosted, we can’t really help you. You’ll need to contact staff directly.
