Stats Numbers

Do the stats numbers change automatically? And do the stat numbers change as the site is clicked ot does it update once every hour? Could there be something stopping the views from being counted?

Howdy,
The visits count is updated nearly in real-time, though the visitor count is delayed (since we do a bit of crunching to determine our best if two visits are from the same or different visitors).
We don’t count views from bots or other “non-humans” (e.g. when Google visits your site to index it for their search results, or Facebook visits it when you share it on Facebook, those aren’t counted) and visits that you make while logged in won’t be counted either, so you wouldn’t have to worry about artificially inflating your stat count by visiting your own site :-)

Just curious. Why doesn’t it count the views from Facebook? Is there some way to allow that to count? That’s where I get most of my views from.

I’m sorry; I should have been more clear. It does count views from people who visit your site from a link on Facebook.
It doesn’t count Facebook’s server visiting your site to grab the image and text to display next to the link when you share it—if that makes sense.
In short, if a human visits your website, it counts.

Strange, because I’m getting the hits counting from Twitter but not from Facebook. Is there some setting I need to change?

I’m seeing Facebook referrals coming through (last seven days: https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?blog=50974398&view=referrers&summarize&unit=1&numdays=7 ).
No setting need to be changed, though you might just have happened to view the stats before a Facebook-directed visitor came through.
