Stats of views by countries not getting updated

  The views by countries is not getting updated. For example, my views and visitors in stats is showing as 50 and 5 respectively but my views by countries is 1, which clearly shows there is something wrong. I assumed there could be a lag in getting updated and waiting for 48 hours but unfortunately it did not get updated. Is it a bug? How can I resolve this issue?

  Hi @anniespromenades, I confirmed with our team that there’s nothing wrong with your stats. Sometimes when someone views your site, we can’t identify where they are in the world — in that case, they won’t be counted in the Countries section of your stats. That section only includes the views where we know which country the visitor is coming from. :)

  Just for your information, this has not happened earlier. I am seeing it for the first time happening to my account, so I hope this is normal and happens only once in a while!

  PS – all stats are a “best guess” or “best estimate” – not all IP addresses will resolve to a valid location nor is the location always accurate – one friend that lives on the west coast of the U.S. and the location that shows when he visits my site is Washington DC (on the east coast)

  also the issue of sorting out robots and search engines and trying to show only live people is tough.

  Before I moved here – I was self hosted and had three different stats programs, all on the same server, and the numbers never matched.

  better to look at general trends – are you up or down over several day, weeks or months – or are visitors constant, more or less
