Stats on Views
-
I query whether there is some sort of problem counting views and visitors to blogs. For instance, I published a new post about 10 hours ago. The stats page currently shows 1 visitor and 2 views so far today, and only a handful for yesterday (not sure what time zone the stats page ‘days’ are calculated around – in case that’s relevant). Yet my post has gartnered 16 likes so far – which implies at least 16 visitors and views. I note the support FAQ that visitor numbers take up to 5 hours to be added to the stats, but note most of the likes came through about 8-10 hours ago.
I noticed a similar pattern of behavior with my prior post where the number of likes appeared to exceed the visitor/views count.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Don’t worry, there isn’t a problem with the view/visitors in your stats. :)
Readers can like your post without visiting your site, for example on the WordPress.com Reader. Since they didn’t actually visit your site, liking a post from the Reader doesn’t count as a visit or view or your blog.
I hope that help explain what’s going on! You can also learn more about your stats here: Stats
