Stats page – not counting correctly
-
Hi,
it’s been a while I’ve noticed that my stats page doesn’t count correctly likes, comments and probably views of my blog.
Here is a screenshot that shows that today I’ve had at least 9 (shown here) likes and 1 comment that is not counted.

Views by Country https://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#views-by-countryOur stats are page view stats. https://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/ If I visit your blog and click into 10 posts that will be recorded as 1 visitor and 10 page views. But please do not assume that everyone who clicks a follow, like, share, reblog or comment link actually reads the post on your blog because odds are they may not.
Follow, like, share, reblog or comment clicks are not page views. In fact, follows, likes, shares, comments and reblogs are completely misleading when you are talking about page view stats. That is because your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com/Gravatar account who is logged into WordPress.com can “follow” your blog, “like”, “share” and “reblog” your posts and “comment” in several locations such as the Reader, without ever clicking into your blog and creating a single page view stat. Subscribers control how frequently they receive your posts (instantly, daily, weekly) and can comment without clicking into the blog.
Logged in wordpress.com members can read full posts in the wordpress.COM Reader now, so there is no incentive for them to click into your site.
WordPress.COM social networking sharing icons display the number of times people visited the actual post/page and clicked to share it. WordPress.COM does not have access to the share counts for shares made on the social networking sites themselves.

I am not talking about views (just because I can’t prove that to you with a screenshot), but likes and comments.
I know that people can see my posts in several locations, but if they press “like” or “comment” their click should be recorded in my stats page as it is shown in my notifications. It has always been the case. Thanks for the modlook, let’s hope I’ll get an answer this time

Hi there,
When viewing your stats, please note that there is a delay between the time that an action (such as a like or a comment) is taken, and the time that it appears on your stats page. This delay is usually fairly short, but it can take a few hours. To be safe, please wait up to 24 hours to make sure your stats are being counted.
Cheers,
Hugh -
I’m sorry I forgot to say above that our stats are not live stats and take hours to update.

@hlashbrooke
the delay of 24 hours has passed and the likes and comments are still not correct as I thought it would be…
I don’t trust my stats page.
@timethief and @ hlashbrooke
What’s the point of a stat page that doesn’t count likes, comments and probably views and visitors that come from other locations?
I am tired of wordpress’ excuses… -
Hi there,
I just had a look at your Stats page as you would see it, and for 10 May (which is the date you were questioning previously), there were 30 views, 23 visitors and 22 likes. That’s a big change from the screenshot that you sent through (which only showed 1 view and 0 likes). That indicates that your stats are definitely working correctly.
What might help make it more clear is if you read through this document explaining how the Stats page works and what kind of things to look out for.
I hope that helps!

You are so predictable wp! I knew you would say that.
I happen to monitor my stats page 24/7 and watch the stats behavior. I KNOW the people who liked and commented that particular time I made the screenshot, I KNOW where they come from and of course I know everybody else who liked my posts that day.
Take a close look at my screenshot
https://pellymade.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/stats.jpg
The liker of my post The trip is the 18th liker at that time. Now, 24 hours later the post has 39 likes. You said thatthere were 30 views, 23 visitors and 22 likes
So 22 likes minus 18 likes equals 4 likes. But as you can see in the screenshot I had at least 8 more likes to other posts that time. These are not counted.
And all the other 21 visitors who came that day didn’t hit a like?? They surely did because the post now has 39 likes remember?
Additionally, if you really had a serious look at my stats page you would have seen that the 1 comment shown in my screenshot wasn’t counted.
So that at least indicates and for me proves that my stats are definitely NOT working correctly. -
Hi there,
I have looked into your stats extensively now, as well the notification logs to see just what’s happening here and it is clear that your stats are working just fine. As I said before, it can take some time before the stats show in your dashboard, but there is nothing wrong that is preventing any of your stats from showing.
Bear in mind, that the stats that I was quoting previously were for that specific day (10 May), so there were 22 likes done on that post on 10 May, but that doesn’t mean the post doesn’t have more likes than that in total.
You can rest assured that your stats are functioning 100% correctly. If you would like to see live stats for your site (so you can see visitors as they are viewing your content) then you can always use Google Analytics – we have a document here showing you how to do that.
Cheers,
Hugh -
I knew it was pointless to start a thread about my stats incorrect function. WP always succeeds to make me feel stupid, ignored and frustrated. You people never read what I write, it feels like I am talking to a robot.

Come on! Did you actually see the screenshot? Did you check the specific post “The trip”? What kind of “extensive look” is that?
https://pellymade.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/the-trip.jpg
And why is the comment I had that day not counted? The same thing happened today,
I had a like or two that weren’t counted. It always happens when the day changes, between the 24:00′ to 03:00′. People who come to my blog between these hours and like or comment are not recorded. Believe me I wouldn’t have bothered opening a thread here if I wasn’t 100% sure this is happening. I am blogging 4 years now and I know all about the delays of stats etc… I happen to work late and check my stats and blog behavior all the time. -
I wonder what the word “support” means here in WordPress….
Don’t bother answering, it’s just another rhetorical question from just another stupid blogger
