Stats Page/Mozilla Issue
-
Hi: I have three domains running with WordPress:
whatbeautifullight.com
Iwonderandwander.rudyfoto.com
path2wisdom.comWhen I click on the stats tracker at the top right of the page for each, normally the site view page appears and I can check what kind of traffic is occurring. This has not worked for the last 24+ hours on Mozilla (v. 46.01). It works fine for Safari (v. 6.2.8).
I run OS X 10.8.5 (12F2560) on a 2008 Mac Pro.
Any thoughts how to troubleshoot. I checked Mozilla, and my version is current. Thanks.

I am also having the same problems with Mozilla (v. 46.01) for OSX 10.8.5 when I try to view account settings. I get the same blank page that I get clicking on the stats tracker. In Safari (v. 6.2.8) I can open the accounts setting page. I have also reloaded Mozilla and that did not solve problem for either of these issues.

Hi,
Could you post the screenshot of the issue you’re facing? You can upload the screenshot to something like https://imgur.com, and paste that link here. Please hide any sensitive information in the screenshot.

In order to help you, Staff need to know your specific computing environment details. Please work through the list that follows and report your details back here.
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/safari-ipad-clear-cache.htm
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/How-To-Clear-Browsing-Data-In-Chrome-For-Ipad_6.htm
(b) Make sure that you have both third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled
http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654
(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily. Know also that security and firewall programs and programs that run incognito mode may need to be temporarily disabled as well.
(d) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions4. You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not then go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and download and install the latest version of flash.
5. Try using another browser.
6. If you are not successful please provide this specific info:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/
(c) Exactly what you experience including exactly what any error reports you receive state.
(d) Screenshots can be helpful. You can use http://snag.gy/ or http://cloudup.com to share screenshots and link to them here. If you use the WordPress.com guide for screenshots http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/ you can and upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it.Then type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. I haven’t gone through every step Time Thief suggested–but the cache is clean is Mozilla. It worked fine two days ago, and I have running the latest version (see above re that, 46.01, and my OSX operating system).
Here are the screen snapshots, using whatbeautifullight.com (but same problems exists for iwonderandwander.rudyfoto.com and path2wisdom.com.
http://imgur.com/a/81ONjTop two from Mozilla: for the site stats page after I click on the icon in the top of the page for the stats, for the account settings page that opens after I click on that link. Both show the same blank page. Worked fine 2 days ago on Mozilla.
By comparison, I clicked on the site stats link in Safari and you can see the page opened normally. (I blocked out identifying information with my screen snapshot).
Welcome your input. Thanks. Rudy

Are your running any brower add-ons or extensions? If you are, then try disabling all of theme, and then activating each one until your find the culprit.
-
EDIT: Are you running any brower add-ons or extensions? If you are, then try disabling all of them, and then activating each one until you find the culprit.
P.S. Sorry about the errors above.
-
HI: I’ve never checked until now what add-ons I have. None. But I do have these plug-ins.
http://imgur.com/a/e5Pdm
The top two (Shockwave, Opens264…) are “always activate, but the others are “ask to activate.” One not shown is blocked (Silverlight something or other). -
I also just went through every single plug in that you can see in the image snapshot. http://imgur.com/a/e5Pdm
I manually disabled each one separately. I then checked if the site stats page would world. All of them when disabled individually had not change on the problem. I still see a blank page when I click on Account Summary or Site Stats. So I think I crossed that problem out, if I followed your recs correctly. Rudy
-
Sorry for typos. I meant to type: “I then checked if the site stats page would work. All of them when disabled individually had no change on the problem.”
-
Thanks for all the checking you did. Let’s ask Staff to assist you with sorting this out. I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

@rsdowens I’ve just tried logging in as you on 46.0.1 on a mac as well. I’m seeing the stats page.
Can you enable your developer console and see if there are any errors showing there? Try alt-clicking, choosing Inspect Element, then clicking through the tabs (console in particular) to see if you find any errors there.
-
Hi Supernova: OK. I see an error related to Javascript when I do an alt-click on the “Browser Console” in the menu of choices for Mozilla/Developer tool. Here is what it looks like.
http://imgur.com/NH4IWz8There was a page of what may have been Javascript when I alt-clicked on “page source” but I didn’t see errors. Did you need that copied?
-
That is helpful. There are little arrows next to each of those messages; can you expand one so we can see more details?
Also if you can copy and paste the text itself (so we can search without transcribing it) that would be helpful as well. You can put it on pastebin or cloudup or a similar service.
-
Hi: Well those error messages and text changed. This will be huge. I copied the whole think (alt-browser console)

One more item to add Supernova. I now see the same blank screens when I click on the console/administration panel and hit add blog or add page. Both of those commands reveal the same blank screen using Mozilla 46.01, and my OSX operating system (10.8.5). Those blank screens look like this: http://imgur.com/a/81ONj

Okay, we haven’t been able to duplicate this here, @rsdowens, and it’s quite difficult to solve a bug we can’t fully see.
We suspect it’s a JavaScript conflict, either due to one of your extensions, the version of your operating system, or quite likely a combination of both.
You could try doing a clean reinstallation of Firefox. Or the solution may be as simple as completely turning off the computer then turning it back on again after a minute or two.
Or, since Chrome is working alright, you could stick with that. Let us know what you decide to do!
-
You were right, and I should have properly removed Firefox from my OSX with a fresh install. That was all I needed to do. Thanks!
