Stats Plugin Stopped Working: API Problem
-
I’m wondering how will Staff know the URLs of the blogs you refer to if you do not provide them?

Thanks for your input @timethief. I have tried to use the method prescribed in the other note of yours, however its asking me for an API key which I need to get from Akismet and which I need to pay for.
This is why I am saying this is a policy change on behalf of wordpress without warning and proper release.
I still haven’t tried the Jetpack method, I will though soon -
which I need to get from Akismet and which I need to pay for
Akismet is free for personal use. If your site is for a business, if it makes money from ads, or if it promotes a product or service, you should pick from one of our paid account options. > https://akismet.com/signup/

Thanks for the tip.
Jetpack seems to have solved my problems. Until next time I guess,
EVERYONE TRY INSTALLING JETPACK

My problems BEGAN when I installed Jetpack, so don’t count on it to be a universal solution.

In the meantime, you can install Google Analytics or Sitemeter etc. Always a good idea to have two stats systems, in case one goes awry.
-
Jetpack was released on 10th March.
On 17th March wp-stats is broken and suddenly Jetpack is the only fix.
I am more and more convinced that this is not a coincidence.
Only the reason escapes me.
As yakos1 says it may herald some or other change of policy from WordPress.
Has anyone heard rumours about Jetpack planning to become a plugin store (a paying one that is)? -
…and it’s now been more than 24 hours for my blog, http://www.viverecapetown.com.
A rather long time to fix an issue, with no statement so far – that I know of – released by WordPress about it. -
Jetpack has not fixed my problem, as of yet, either.
This is the error message I am getting when my wordpress.com stats plugin is failing to work properly:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function register_uninstall_hook() in /home/khandor/www/khandorssportsblog.com/wordpress-2.5.1/wp-content/plugins/stats.php on line 1291
I have tried uninstalling the plugin and re-installing it but to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated.

Same problem here, saw that api access error, Now the error gone but my stats are not shown properly. And my self-hosted address http://www.kavkisfile.com/key/wp-admin/ turned to a weird address- http://stats.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
Also it’s showing different stats at different time. Few minutes ago I saw 900 views, now it’s showing me 2100 views!
How to fix!?
**Installing jetpack is not a solution here

Funny. Just today I found an article saying that the current version of the wordpress stats can bring any European blogger in big troubles. The newest version of wp stats sends the private data of your visitors to Quantcast and Comscore in the US. This is not allowed according to European data protection laws, as both don’t follow the safe harbor agreement.
It will be interesting to see whether JetPack is a useable alternative for European bloggers or whether data is still sent to obscure companies in the US…

It’s fine that jetpack is working, but all my site history (of wordpress stats) is gone!!!
Support, import my site stats into jetpack.
