Stats Plugin Stopped Working: API Problem
-
In addition to the Stats problem, I also cannot install Jetpack. After getting part-way through the installation I get a large green button with the work “CONTINUE” on it. When I click the “CONTINUE” button, I get pushed out of the dashboard and I end up on the home page of my self-install blog.
Both problems occurred with BuddyPress installations.

Hope it helps!

I am using Jetpack 1.1.1 and still have the same problem. BTW, the green button actually says: “Connect to WordPress.com” after a preceding message says “Your Jetpack is almost ready – Connect to WordPress.com to enable all features.
I am using MediaTemple, which I selected for self-hosted sites a year and a half ago when they were a big sponsor of WordCamp NYC.

At the same time when our stats stopped working, our website – http://www.bushnellgardens.com – got a lot slower. Are these two problems related?
P.S. I was looking at others’ websites linked from this forum and it seemed like their sites were slower as well.

Is anyone else when they check their wordpress.com dashboard seeing their blog domain name prefixed by www2 instead of www? Just curious whether that is a more universal problem, or just reserved for me.

“My stats are still in and out.”
As are mine. Worked for a day and now counting only old pages (more than a year). I installed JetPack and it wiped out my right 2 columns on my theme and my WYSIWYG editor, basically rendering the blog useless. I deleted it and those problems went away but the stats are still screwy.
I will not install Jetpack again until there is some word that the bugs have been fixed. How can something so messed up be released as stable?

Jetpack and WP Stats are a disaster.
Partial stats, mixed stats, missing stats, slow loading stats page, and to top it all 3 different stats counts. -
I did not install JetPack knowingly… Is this something I may have installed unknowingly? I don’t even know what JetPack is or does. All I know is things are stuffed up.

@iplawincanada-are you talking about a WordPress.com blog or a different blog? Please be clear.
@jtb917 and @fredjoiners-For problems with jetpack, please follow the instructions noted here:
@tojasonharris-information about jetpack can be found here http://jetpack.me/ . If you (or another admin) on your self-hosted WordPress blog didn’t install it, its not the problem you are having.

@conexionbb
You’re welcome. It’s my understanding that those who are running the latest version of wordpress.org on their wordpress.org installs who follow instructions and install Jetpack are successful when it comes to having operational stats. All support is provided at the links I posted. -

This is ridiculous. While it might be some consolation for a few that there is some success with starting all over and installing jetpack, upgrades, deleting and recreating new wordpress accounts and a new API, deactivating and reactivating all plugins, uninstalling and reinstalling WordPress Stats, etc., etc., I would be much more satisfied with WordPress publishing some news about what the hell is going on.
According to their ‘official’ statements I have found after much searching, their ‘denial of service’ attack is over and all is hunky dory. Well, no it is not. Stats have stopped working period for a large percentage of bloggers. I can access my dashboard about 50% of the time and can post new material about 10% of the time.
And is there a single mention of this when one logs onto their wordpress account? NO. NOTHING. NADA. ZERO.
Since there is zero information regarding the cause or mention of expected resolution, we are left to ‘guess’ whether we should undertake time consuming and pain in the ass alterations to something that worked perfectly fine a week ago. It is more than ironic, and less than basic common sense, that WordPress cannot use a blog to provide current information about the most serious technical issue they have ever had….even if the have to resort to using Blogger to do so.
That said the volunteers who ARE providing some work arounds are to be given our gratitude.
