Stats question

  Hello! I’m just curious if visitors to the site get remembered? I put up a new post recently which has 11 views but only 1 visitor. Is that because the other 10 visitors are returning people who have already been to the blog?

  No, that simply means there were 11 views by 1 unique visitor.

  If I stopped by and viewed 3 posts, then that would by 14 views by 2 visitors.

  If another regular visitor then stopped by and viewed just today’s post, then that would be 15 views by 3 visitors.

  Please keep in mind that stats don’t fully total in real-time, it takes longer to identify unique visitors. For example, right now your stats are showing 13 views by 8 visitors for today. :)

  hi there,
  Not sure where to post this question. We have a wordpress website, and I can’t find “stats” on the dashboard menu. We have menu options like posts, media, pages, etc. – but no stats. Our website is http://www.watertowncitizens.org
  Do we need to have a Premium plan to get stats?
  Do we need to install Google Analytics?
  Is a WordPress website different from a blog, which does have a Stats button?

  @ayanow You need to understand the difference between WordPress.com (this forum you are currently posting in…someone elses thread though….) and the WordPress.org software you use with your BlueHost hosted site. Stats are a feature provided for sites hosted here at WordPress.com. You can have stats for your site by installing the JetPack plugin on your site and managing them via this WordPress.com account you have.

  ah, thanks. Are there stats available on the wordpress.org platform? I don’t see JetPack on our x.org site. thanks!

  Perhaps you could Google JetPack. I’m not familiar with loading plugins. It’s not something I can do/need to do here at WordPress.com. You can get help for your site at the correct support forum by registering an account at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
