Stats question

I wanted to ask if anyone knew if this is my blog stats problem or a stats issue in general. What has been happening on occasion and now more frequently is that the bar graph (used to be the line graph) displays a different number from the “number of views” listed under the graph. Today is the first time I noticed it happening more than once. Earlier it showed a 12 count difference. Right now it’s showing a 4 count difference.

I realize this is not a great difference but was wondering if it had to do with the weird referrals I’ve been getting. I get some bizarre referrals sometimes that don’t link my blog and have nothing, even remotely, to do with the subject matter of my blog. It’s not an everyday occurrence but was wondering if that was messing with the stats — that is the bar graph hits has a different number than the stated hits.

I guess I am asking if the stats are experiencing problems which explains why I get different numbers or are the numbers different sometimes because they use a different method of counting at different times.

    Thanks.

Hi. Does this answer your question? From http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#additional-info :

Why don’t post/page views add up to total views?
Post/page views are included in total views, but there are many views to your site that are not a post or page URL. The front pages, category/tag/date/author archives, and searches are all examples of other views that only count towards total views.
