Stats: Search Terms cut short
-
In my blog stats I only get (I think) the first forty characters of search terms others have used to find my blog. How can I view the full search terms? Sorry if this question’s answered elsewhere.

Hover your mouse on the search term and look at your status bar. Sometimes you can see more that way.

I’d noticed the 40-character limit as well. I haven’t found any way to get the rest of it, and don’t even know if the rest is even captured in the database.
Sometimes you can guess what they were after, but I’ve gotten hits from searches like “singular word or phrase that appeals to” and “pennies have the same cardinality as the”. These are really useless without the rest of the search string. :-(

There is a way, but only if you quick about it. Go to your dashboard and look at the ‘Stats’ section (Don’t click ‘See All’). You can catch the latest search terms (full versions) there, under ‘Top Searches’.

Thanks!
That also suggests that they’re in the database; I wonder what it would take to get the full versions on the stats page?
