Stats showing unlikely recurrence of specific searches
-
Hi, Any ideas on why I’ve been getting a specific search term coming up repeatedly in the last few weeks?
It’s creating an unseasonal spike in my stats – and seems to be largely due to a search using the specific three words “lucy weather daybreak” – which can link to a specific blog entry from Dec 2nd 2011.
This does not look like a genuine search – as it is the same three words each time. Stats say there have been 32 of this specific search in the last 7 days – often several times a day. Why would someone be doing that search so many times? And following it through? Seems very unlikely.
So, is it some odd spamming link (can’t see any purpose of that), or some odd academic project (maybe some tutor set a task involving that specific search?) or maybe it’s even a result of stalking (not me, but the Lucy in the search string). Or something else entirely? Whatever it is it doesn’t look like a genuine stat.
Any info would be useful/interesting
