stats skewed by lots of inexplicable views on a posting

    Over the course of the last week one of my postings had seen a spike in the number of views it received (to around 70 views per day for that post, compared to 15 views in total for the blog on a good day). I deleted the posting and yet today I’m still seeing my stats skewed to 156 views with only 6 views accounted for by still existing posts. What’s going on? Can I remove the skew in my stats? The post concerned Adolf Hitler but really wasn’t all that interesting so I’m at a loss to understand why it should receive the number of views that it did (stats don’t record bots as I’ve read in the FAQ).

    Maybe, your page rank increased! It’s possible that people got to your blog through tags.

    And deleting your post does not decrease your stats, it shows the total number of views that day.
