Stats stopped counting on July 25th.

My stats disappeared on July 25th, and WordPress says no one has visited since. I have added AWstats after contacting BlueHost so I can see that I am really getting around 30 visitors a day. Why does my page look like no one has visited in almost a month?

    Hi there,

The Jetpack connection with your site at http://www.campingmentor.com looks good from our end, but sometimes conflicts with other plugins installed on your site can cause trouble. I’d recommend starting by disabling other plugins to see if that helps, as mentioned here:

    http://jetpack.me/support/getting-started-with-jetpack/troubleshooting-tips/

You can also check this list of known issues to see if you’re using one of the plugins mentioned there:

If that doesn’t resolve it for you, please let me know or get in touch directly with our
    Jetpack support team here:

Thank you. I started by disabling all but the Jetpack plugin. I really do not have very many. I know I did an update of a few things on the day it stopped recording any traffic and I lost the black bar on the top of my site when I visit it. I am just not sure what it was that I did.
However, i did this in the morning, and now it is past 10pm and still no traffic is showing up. Then I checked Awstats, and the last two days I had 40 visits, and today I had 3. That is worse!! I am turning back on the deactivated plug-ins. (Akismet, Breadcrumb NavXT, Jetpack by WordPress, and MojoMarketplace.)
Any other ideas? I really want my stats back, but not at the expense of traffic.

    Hi there,

Can you please take a look at the Amazon/Synergy ad code you have in a text widget? It looks like there are some issue with the code (in particular, the iFrame tag isn’t closed) and that’s causing problems for anything after it — including the stats tracking code and your site’s footer.

That was it! I never would have figured that out on my own. Can you tell me how to add click thru ads to my site correctly? I would like a banner ad for both Amazon and for Sierra Trading Post, but I am not really sure how to get them on there- obviously.

Whew, I’m glad that solved it!

I’d recommend asking in the WordPress.org forums for tips about adding ads to your site: http://wordpress.org/support/

That’s the best place to get general advice and support for self-hosted WordPress sites. :)
