Stats stopped updating

My blog was originally at wordpress.com. A year or so ago, I moved it to a hosted version of WP with Jetpack. The stats worked fine until a couple of months ago.
I had my old blog at everythingesteban.wordpress.com forwarding to http://www.everythingesteban.com. It seems like the stats problem began when I decided not to continuing the forwarding.
Jetpack is still connected to my wordpress.com account.
Does the forwarding need to be in place for stats to be generated? Other blogs, that didn’t originate at wordpress.com don’t have this issue.
