Stats surge from Facebook
-
I’m curious as to why my last posting has seen a significant spike in traffic: the referring link is Facebook. The odd thing is that at the time of posting I had disabled my FB a/c and in any event I never post to FB. Any thoughts on what’s going on?
Cheers,

Simple. Someone with a degree of Facebook pull has posted a link to your post. Because of FB’s privacy settings, you can’t see exactly who it is, but in cases where your content goes viral, it’s a good idea to put up a new post quickly, as people will come for the link, sometimes click to see the rest of your blog, and if that link is your newest post and there’s nothing fresher, they’ll leave. If there’s a fresh post that is good, people may become regular readers. I generally retain 10% of my viral spikes by doing this.

Thanks raincoaster for the explanation and good advice – I found where the post was used on FB. Cheers!
