Stats: “transport error” when adding API key

  Hello,

  I upgraded my WP stats to 1.3.8 and after adding my API key I get the following error message:

  Error from last API Key attempt:
  Your blog was unable to connect to WordPress.com. Please ask your host for help. (transport error – could not open socket: 2 )

  What exactly can I test from server side to make sure the connection is working?

  The blog you specified at http://www.phatcars.de does not appear to be hosted at WordPress.com.

  This support forum is for WordPress.com hosted blogs only. If you have a self-hosted WordPress blog you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums, not here.
