Stats zero visitors
-
Hi everyone,
I got an update from our team: They found and fixed the issue causing this stats glitch. Your stats should catch up and be back to normal in the next hour or so.
You may need to refresh your browser or clear your browser’s cache after that if your stats still look wrong.. If you have any trouble with them after that please let me know. :)

The fix was retroactive, so everything should have filled in by now. Let me know if you’re still seeing weirdness.

Visitor / view stats appear to be messed-up again. In the last hour I’ve apparently had only 1 visitor who has only viewed 4 pages … from two different countries (3 in the USA before he / she apparently jumped over the border and looked at the fourth from Canada …)!

Hi peysworld – Stats aren’t exactly real time. You’ll need to give it a little time before all data is completely filled in. In general, the data for the past few hours is definitely in flux and anything from the past 24 hours may not be finalized yet.
Can you take a look at your stats again and let me know if you’re still seeing an issue?

There is seriously something wrong. I have one post which has been up for hours. The stats say it’s been viewed 24 times, but it’s been shared to Facebook 64 times. http://thecryptosphere.com/2014/10/14/happy-ada-lovelace-day/
There is no sudden inundation of Reader viewers who could account for that.
Additionally, earlier today the total views on my posts was smaller than the total number of visitors.

The stats say it’s been viewed 24 times, but it’s been shared to Facebook 64 times.
The number of times your article has been shared on Facebook will not necessarily be representative of how many people read the article. Anyone can share an article on Facebook through the sharing buttons on almost all posts. The sharing numbers on your posts come directly from the social media networks.
Additionally, earlier today the total views on my posts was smaller than the total number of visitors.
As I mentioned in my previous posts, our stats are not real time. They need a few hours to catch up. While some views may be counted rather quickly, some won’t. This is just how stats work. If at the end of the day, you’re still seeing these mismatched numbers let me know.
