Stats/Referrers

Does anyone ever find that in they have strange websites listed as referrers to their blog? It makes me wonder if the hits that I supposedly got due to the reference of these websites are actually real people.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, they’re referrer spam, like comment spam.
Just contact us via http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ to report them and we’ll add them to our filters.

I have a related problem now – I seem to have a lot of new traffic from unkown sources. Previously, I could track my blog traffic to search terms, referrers, and usually a couple “direct” visits from friends. Now I have about 100x more traffic and it doesn’t also show up on any of these other ways. It’s all “direct” traffic to my home page.

@macmanx- at this point there are multiple forum posts regarding spam referrers, all of which request people to contact Support directly, that maybe it is time for a sticky post at the top of the forum until this problem is resolved? Thanks!

Yeah, I suppose it might be time for that. I’ll check with the rest of the team and we’ll put something together.
