Status of domain name cancellation?

Hello! I’ve been a user of WordPress for years, and I recently purchased a domain name for a new blog I started. I then decided to self-host and use WordPress.org instead of .com and I read existing FAQs that said domains would be available to register on another registrant after 5 days if I cancelled within 48 hours. I proceeded to cancel within the time frame. However, checking my email after the time frame, I found out that I needed to hit a confirmation button on the email in order to cancel. I hit the button to complete my cancel but this was after the 48 hour time frame, so I’m not sure if I can still get the domain and money returned. However, going back into my inbox, I never confirmed the purchase of the domain in the first place, so it might not even have been officially registered?
At any rate, I was wondering what the status of the domain berylzhao.com is. Thanks so much and sorry if it was confusing!

Your domain, berylzhao.com, was definitely registered, but it was only cancelled about 6 hours ago. It should have been within enough time that it will be released by the registry in a few days, but you’ll definitely have a few days to wait until it does.
I also made sure that our system issued you a refund for the $18 that you spent. You should be seeing it show up on your credit card in the next few days.
